1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

One of the many challenges for teenagers today is that much of the world really has low expectations of them.  Much of this stereotype has been brought about through a generation of unmotivated and immoral teens who quite frankly haven't  shown that they deserve very high expectations.  The Bible exhorts us to not be like the "common" teenager, but rather be uncommon to go against the norm.

In 1 Timothy 4:12 Paul tells Timothy to Let no man despise thy youth, or don't give them any reason to use your age against you.  An "uncommon" teenager can be an example to all ages, we want the world to see something different in us, to respect us, and to expect great things from us.
