Galatians 1:6–9 (NKJV)
I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, 7 which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Sola is a Latin Term Meaning Alone
The Gospel that we preach can be summarized by these five statements: Sola Scriptura: Scripture Alone, Solus Christus: Christ Alone, Sola Fide: Faith Alone, Sola Gratia: Grace Alone, Soli Deo Gloria: For the Glory of God Alone. These five Solas, capture well, the core of the gospel in all its graciousness and Christ-centeredness, just as it is revealed in the Scriptures. These five solas show the glory of God’s gracious way of salvation in a way that sets the tone for true theology, resounding in how we think and live in this world.
Open and Closed Hand Issues
Over the years we have used the terms “open” and “closed” hand when it comes to issues of doctrine. An open hand issue would be one in which we have different perspectives or preferences and still remain united as a church. A closed hand issue, on the other hand, is a doctrine that we can not and will not compromise on. These are doctrines, that if not agreed upon, will naturally lead to division amongst the body.
